Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center

The Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center is the host facility for Texas A&M-Kingsvillemen’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. Steinke was the Javelinas Athletic Director and Head Football Coach from 1952-76, is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, as well as the TAMUK Hall of Fame.

The Steinke Center has seating for more than 4,000 fans and was the host facility for the 2001 NCAA South Central Regional Women’s Basketball Regional, as well as a Lone Star Conference Basketball Tournament game three times, including the 2003-04 season.

High school volleyball and basketball games are played at the facility that comes equipped with a overhead scoreboard, two bleacher levels and an on-the-floor video board.
