She was a three-time Field Eventor of the Year at Jones HS. She was a three-time regional qualifier in track and holds the school record in the discus with a throw of 128-2.5. She was a state qualifier in powerlifting. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Personal: Gonzales is the daughter of Chris and Amelia Gonzales and is studying Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish.
