High School: Diefenbach earned second team TAPPS All-District 3-5A honors as a sophomore and was named the District MVP as a junior en route to earning first team All-State, first team All-Area and the Doug Drabek MVP awards. He was also an Academic All-State honoree. He led St. Joseph’s to district championships as a sophomore and a junior. During his senior season, he once again earned first team All-District, All-Area and All-State honors. He compiled a record of 27-4 in three seasons of work. He went 14-1 with a 1.99 earned run average and 96 strikeouts his junior season. Academically, he was a member of the National Honor Society, earned Academic All-State honors and won the Algebra and U.S. History awards. He was also a two-time all-district performer in football.

Personal: Diefenbach is the son of Bill and Teresa Diefenbach and is studying Pre-Dentistry.
