Biedron Joins Javelina Staff

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – Texas A&M-Kingsville Athletics Director Scott Gines announced that Joe Biedron had accepted the offer to become the Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs.
 “Joe brings a body of work to Javelina athletics that includes extensive experiences as an athletic director, athletic business manager, associate athletic director for development, and chamber of commerce president that will help position our Javelina Club annual fund, corporate sponsorships, season ticket sales and marketing initiatives for ongoing growth and success in ways that will benefit all of our programs, donors and clients,” said Gines.
Biedron has over 21 years of experience in the area of intercollegiate athletics in a variety of roles.  Additionally, he has over eight years of experience in Chamber of Commerce Administration in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Most recently, Biedron served as the Athletics Development Director at University of Texas at Arlington from 2004-07.  His main responsibilities were in the area of development of annual funds personally and via the “Team Concept” and athletics endowments to assist UTA specifically in the areas of athletic scholarships and recruitment funds for NCAA Division I programs.  He also served as a major point of contact and liaison with UTA Alumni Association and with the UTA Athletics Alumni Chapter.
Prior to working at UT-Arlington, Biedron was the director of athletics at El Paso Community College for four years starting in January of 2000.  He was responsible for the overall operation, planning and sound fiscal management of the total NJCAA Division I program.
In the 1990’s, Biedron spent nearly nine years working with the Chamber of Commerce as the President and Chief Executive Officer in Las Cruces and as the Vice President of the Greater El Paso chapter.  One of his main responsibilities in that role was the facilitating the planning and implementation of the Chamber’s annual business plan including membership development.
Biedron began his professional career as the head ice hockey coach at Lehigh University where he went 21-11-3 with two Mid-Atlantic Conference championships in two seasons.  Over the next few years he moved up the ranks at schools such as Wayne State University, Fresno State University and University of Kansas where he was the assistant athletic director.  He continued on to California State University-Fullerton on two separate occasions, New Mexico State University and finally Monmouth University as Director of Athletics for three years before moving on to Chamber of Commerce work.
