Women's Basketball Adds Redlands Transfer |

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – Texas A&M-Kingsville women’s basketball coach Michael Trujillo signed Redlands Community College guard Sheana Jones on Tuesday to play for the Javelinas in the 2012-13 season. Jones is a 5-7 guard from Oklahoma City, OK where she played for four years at Putnam City North High School. She earned Oklahoma Big All-City Team honors as a senior and was her team’s defensive player of the year on two occasions. She helped lead the team to Regional and Area titles as a senior. She graduated with a 4.0 G.P.A. and was a member of the National Honor Society. Jones played two seasons at Redlands CC and earned Third Team All-Conference Region II honors in 2011-12. She averaged 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game as a sophomore. She shot 42 percent from the field and made 61 three-pointers on the season. As a freshman, she averaged 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. Jones is the daughter of Patrick and Carla Jones and plans to study kinesiology. #### pr12298smm |
