Barlow Signs with Javelinas

Meagan Barlow signs with the Javelinas  KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – Meagan Barlow, a 5-7 guard out of D’Hanis High School, signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Wednesday.
Barlow, a two-time TABC all-state guard, averaged 18.6 points, 7.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game as a junior.  In the regional semi-finals, she scored 25 points and had 10 assists against Calvert.  She earned district most valuable player, San Antonio Express News all-area, TABC all-region, Texas Basketball Magazine all-state and Texas Preps Magazine all-state honors.
During her sophomore season, Barlow averaged 17.3 points, 5.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game.  She was named the district offensive most valuable player, San Antonio Express News area most valuable player and TABC all-region in addition to her TABC all-state honor.  She poured in 32 points against Calvert in the regional semi-finals.
As a freshman, Barlow earned honorable mention all-district honors.
A multi-sport athlete, Barlow has earned first team all-district honors in volleyball and softball and was a regional qualifier in track.  She was the district co-most valuable player as a junior and district newcomer of the year as a sophomore.
Barlow plans to study Health and Kinesiology at A&M-Kingsville.  She is the only player that Javelina head coach Scott Hyland plans to sign in the early signing period.
