TEMPE, Ariz. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its annual All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Tuesday afternoon with Javelina women's tennis earning the team recognition for the ninth year in a row with six individual student-athletes being named scholar-athletes by the organization.
Coach Autumn Wollenzien's squad posted a 3.76 team GPA, easily surpassing the required 3.2 for consideration.
Alessa Maier and Milou ter Morsche headlined the ITA list of Scholar-Athletes with their third consecutive selections for the honor.
Sophomore Manuela Turolo earned her the honor for the second year in a row while being joined by Annika Andersson Gomez, Sterre Fleur Moerdijk, and Johanna Winkler who earned the recognition for the first time in their careers.
To be eligible for the accolade, student-athletes must maintain a GPA over 3.5 while being listed on the institutional eligibility form.
