SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team fell to Lone Star Conference foe, Angleo State, 7-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Rambelles started the day sweeping the doubles point winning all three matches by a score of 6-0, 6-3, and 6-1.
In the singles, ASU took the first three singles matches in straight sets as well as the No. 5 match. At No. 4 and No. 6 Manuela Turolo and Annika Andersson Gomez took their matches to third set tie breakers.
At the six spot, Andersson Gomez took the early lead winning the first set 6-4 before dropping the second set 3-6. In the third and final set however, the freshman from Sweden fell short, 1-0.
In the No. 4 match, Manuela Turolo also took her match's first set, winning 7-5 before dropping the next two sets and the match.
The Javelinas are now preparing to take on LSC opponent in Cameron on the road on March, 9.
