Doug Harvey was a member of the Javelina football team in 1959-61. He served as a captain of the 1962 A&I team that was the first undefeated squad in the school’s history. He was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 1978. Harvey, a native of Kingsville, was first-team All-American, All-Texas College and All-Lone Star Conference in 1962. He was named to the Javelina 50-year team in 1975 and was selected on offense and defense. Harvey has coached at Riviera and Premont since graduating and currently is a principal in Premont. |
